engin, with its two years of solid presence in the market, entered an arena already populated by established names like Indeed and ZipRecruitment. engin is a pioneering recruitment and management system centered around people. The platform specializes in enabling companies within burgeoning sectors, particularly the cannabis industry, to acquire top-tier talent. Through experience within the cannabis industry, founders have identified barriers hindering the growth of cannabis companies. Traditional recruitment methods often miss connecting the right job seekers with the requisite skills. engin fills this gap by proactively identifying potential candidates, assessing their skill sets, and presenting them to you, even before they apply for specific openings.
One challenge lied in aggregating vacancies from other platforms — while these platforms host opportunities, seamlessly integrating and showcasing them within engin platform requires significant resources. Another challenge was managing the process of handling 100-200 jobs in XML format. This time-consuming process involves reading, parsing, and storing this data in the necessary format. A couple of challenges we faced while integrating widgets into third-party websites, especially related to how it is displayed, taking into account that third-party website has their own styling and page structure.
Last but not least, LinkedIn doesn’t provide all the data we require for job profiles. We needed to implement AI chatbots to generate power profiles based on titles and descriptions. Moreover, the speed up with location data was necessary for faster recruitment, assessing the legality of cannabis in specific states to tailor profiles accordingly.
From the get-go, we integrate features that boost job listings and enable users to elevate their job postings. This feature, known as "Spark Boost," propelled vacancies to the top and offered accessible analytics and credit-based acceleration. We went even further by introducing support for virtual currency. This currency turbocharged job visibility, allowing users to invest in boosting their listings, gaining premium visibility, and diving into advanced analytics. Our team resolved integrations of widgets into third-party websites by changes in coding approaches and introducing more configuration options.
We collaborated closely with Dr. Valerie Fraysse, Chief Technology Officer, who spearheaded the creation of an AI model. This model, meticulously crafted by our CTO's team, seamlessly integrated into our platform, enhancing the core logic of AI within our system. With the Chief Technology Officer of engin, we integrated AI model seamlessly into the platform, making user experience smoother. We successfully optimized candidate matching according to the integration. We added external feature ingestion that opened avenues for seamless integration of external functionalities, enhancing the overall user experience and expanding the platform's capabilities.

We introduced 2 types of widgets that can be integrated into third-party websites. First is the “section/box” with a few jobs displayed. It is configurable in terms of what jobs to display (by company, state, or industry), what number of jobs should be displayed, and whether to show more detailed info about a job in a popup or not. The second widget allows generating a job description after providing some info, it is generated with the help of OpenAI, and this job can be posted on the website.
